A'Beckett's Estate Rosé 2007

3rd April 2008

A relative 'new kid on the block' - a'Beckett's Vineyard is situated half way between Avebury and Stonehenge in the village of Littleton Panell in Wiltshire, near Devizes and is producing some very interesting wines.

Some have already been highly acclaimed by notable wine critics.

a'Beckett's Vineyard has some 6 acres down to vines and is also developing a range of apple juice.

The last vintage of Rosé, the 2006, was so popular that it sold out within months, particularly having gained a silver medal in the national competition last year. People are panting for its successor and they won't be disappointed.

Produced from mainly Pinot Noir, with a small amount of Reichensteiner, this wine is crisp, clean with some lively strawberry fruit, asking to be swirled, sniffed and quaffed whilst watching the sun go down this summer. It may be a bit early for those warm summer evenings (which let's face it we deserve after last year), but now that the clocks have moved forward it's time to think ahead. Judging from the popularity of this wine last year, it's worth getting in some bottles now.

The wine is available direct from the vineyard (www.abecketts.co.uk), price £7.00 per bottle, available by the six or 12 bottle case. It is also available in local stockists (Wadworth, the local brewery is listing all A'Beckett's wines in their pubs), being served in Huxleys, at Heathrow's Terminal 5.

All a'Beckett's wines have the Vegan Society Trademark Approval.
