Japanese firm Nintendo has announced that it will reduce the price of its Nintendo DS game console in the UK.
Effective October 7, the Nintendo DS will be priced at £89.99, down from its original £99.99 retail price.
The price drop comes just in time for the release of one of Nintendo DS's most anticipated titles, Nintendogs.
Nintendogs, set for UK release on October 7, is an interactive puppy simulator that lets owners train and play with a virtual pet. Created exclusively for Nintendo DS, Nintendogs has sold over 1.5 million copies to date in Japan and North America.
The Nintendo DS launched across Europe this spring and offers true innovation with dual screen gaming, touch-screen technology, wireless gameplay, microphone input and Wi-Fi compatibility - all in the palm of your hand.
Since launch it has achieved outstanding sales in Europe, shattering the one million mark in under three months. By the end of June 2005, worldwide sales had reached 6.65 million.
