Valentine's Day might be just around the corner, but according to new research from Wassen Coenzyme Q10, nearly half of us are too tired for sex.
Thoughts of romance are the last thing on Brits' minds this Valentine's Day, with 45 per cent of those surveyed saying they would decline sex due to tiredness.
Over half (53 per cent) admitted a lack of energy made them irritable and 41 per cent admitted they would rather get a takeaway than cook a candlelit meal.
Asked to name what they would do if they had more energy, one in three (34 per cent) said they would have more sex.
The Wassen Coenzyme Q10 poll revealed that nearly two thirds (60 per cent) struggled to get out of bed in the morning, with 27 per cent saying they were deprived of sleep.
Eighteen per cent said that stress left them feeling exhausted, while a further 18 per cent said that their busy lifestyles were the culprits.
Rather than swinging from the chandeliers over a third (37 per cent) of those polled attributed their lethargy to a lack of exercise, with 37 per cent admitting they exercised less than once a week.
Rita Stoffaneller, from Wassen Coenzyme Q10 said: "The research clearly shows that a lack of energy is affecting all areas of our lives, including relationships."
