Crufts attracts dogs from all over the globe

Crufts attracts dogs from all over the globe

18th January 2008

Crufts, widely regarded as the world's greatest dog show, is back at The NEC this year from March 6-9.

Officially recognised as the world's largest dog show by the Guinness Book of Records, Crufts 2008 looks forward to expecting over 25,000 dogs, including around 1,000 dogs from overseas.

Over four days the seven different pedigree dog groups are shown, and as each group is judged a Best in Group winner is chosen.

The Best in Group winners go on to compete in the grand finale on the last evening of the show for the ultimate title of Best in Show. The winner of the Best in Show class is the top dog in the world!

In addition to this world class contest, several other important canine competitions are set to take place, including the International Obedience, Agility and Heelwork to Music competitions. There will also be many exciting displays from other dog organisations and charities.

Visitors will be spoilt for choice when they flock to this annual canine spectacular. Nearly 500 trade stands will be present, offering everything that you and your dog could possibly wish for, with many special Crufts discounts on offer.

Dog lovers and prospective owners will also get the chance to get up close and personal with 190 breeds of potential pedigree partners in the Discover Dogs area, where they can get expert guidance from handlers who will help them to find their own perfect match.
