Ocean's 13, the latest crime caper starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, has topped the UK and Ireland box office on its weekend debut.

The third of the casino-based films took £3.02m in weekend ticket sales, according to Screen International.

Ocean's 13, which also stars Al Pacino, Andy Garcia and Matt Damon, follows Danny Ocean, played by Clooney, and his boys as they attempt to rig a casino.

It knocked last week's top movie, Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End, into second place.

At World's End earned £2.32m between Friday and Sunday.

Family comedy Are We Done Yet?, starring Ice Cube and Nia Long, debuted at number three with £420,000.

Romantic comedy Wedding Daze fell two spots to four, followed by Spider-Man 3 in fifth place.

Spider-Man 3 generated £241,672 last weekend, bringing its six-week UK haul to nearly £33m.
