Yahoo Music reports that British pop star Robbie Williams is being lined up to perform the theme tune for the new James Bond movie, Casino Royale.
The website says Williams is set to record a song written by legendary crooner Tony Christie.
Yahoo Music quotes Christie as saying: "Robbie's voice would suit it down to the ground - plus he's current and hip so it would be absolutely great if he did it.
"We tried to make it a typical Bond theme tune with a throbbing dramatic bassline filling the background.
"I'm a huge fan of the old school 007 songs like Shirley Bassey with Goldfinger and Tom Jones singing Thunderball, so I tried to give it that authentic sound. We are due to record it in February."
Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron is reportedly being lined up as the next Bond girl, the Daily Mirror reported earlier this month.
According to the British tabloid, the South African beauty has been offered a lucrative deal to star alongside new Bond Daniel Craig in Casino Royale.
The former model is British director Martin Campbell's first choice for the role, the paper says.
The 30-year-old would follow in the footsteps of legendary Bond girls including Halle Berry, Teri Hatcher, Britt Ekland and Ursula Andress.
Sienna Miller and Angelina Jolie have also be mentioned for the role.
