Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue has been given the all-clear from breast cancer, The Sun newspaper has reported.
According to the British tabloid, Kylie received the good news from doctors in Paris and has now gone back to Australia to celebrate with her family.
A source close to Kyle is quoted by The Sun as saying: "Kylie was desperate to see her family. She just wanted to hug them all and tell them it was going to be okay.
"She is thrilled and relieved. It’s been a tough few months and there have been times when she felt very weak and very down. Chemotherapy is a gruelling, horrible treatment which puts the body under intense strain.
"But this is the news she has been waiting to hear and she can hardly put her happiness into words - she just keeps beaming.
"For the past couple of months she has been feeling very positive and healthy. She has put a bit of weight on and has been feeling confident about the future.
"Her hair is even beginning to grow back, which she is tickled pink about. So this news really is the icing on the cake."
However, the news has been denied by Kylie's publicist who told theage.com.au: "there's no validity to this. It's not true."
Kylie, 37, was forced to cancel her Showgirl tour when she was diagnosed with the disease last May.
She had her final chemotherapy session on December 18, The Sun reported.
The former Neighbours actress has worked to raise money for breast cancer over recent years and has regularly worked to publicise Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast cancer facts:
Research conducted by Imaginis shows that breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women (after lung cancer) worldwide and is the most common type of cancer found among women in the world.
According to figures from the World Health Organization, around 1.2 million people worldwide were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.
Earlier detection and better treatments have improved mortality rates in recent years.
The majority of breast cancers will be treated with surgery to remove the tumour.
