Legendary singer, actress and songwriter Dolly Parton is due to tour the UK later this year following on from her sold out tour in March 2007.
The entire world will be delighted when the Smoky Mountain Songbird takes the stage and shows us exactly why she is such a legend.
With hits like '9 To 5', 'Here You Come Again', 'Jolene', and of course the incomparable 'I Will Always Love You', audiences are promised the show of a lifetime. With all new sets, costumes and even new music from her forthcoming 'Backwoods Barbie' album, it is sure to make an evening spent with Dolly Parton a night to remember.
Dolly Parton has written over 3,000 songs, had numerous number 1 hits and won countless Grammy Awards, Country Music Awards and American Music Awards, not to mention a plethora of gold and platinum albums.
Dolly says: "I had a great time when we were in Europe last tour and I expect to have even more fun on the up and coming tour. I can't wait to see all the fans again. We have a lot of new songs from my new CD, Backwoods Barbie, and a lot of fun things for everybody. Get ready cause here I come again!"
Inducted as a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Dolly Parton is the most honoured female country performer of all time. She has had 25 songs reach number one on the Billboard Country charts, a record for a female artist. She has 41 career top 10 country albums, a record for any artist, and she has 110 career charted singles over the past 40 years.
Always dreaming and always looking forward, Dolly is busier than ever. She is writing the music and lyrics for the upcoming Broadway musical version of '9-5', working on various children's projects, and her new album, 'Backwoods Barbie', is set for release in February 2008.
The UK leg of her World Tour begins in Glasgow on 27th June 2008, ending up at the O2 Arena in London on 5th July 2008.
