Scotland's Sir Sean Connery has been named the best James Bond of all time in a poll of readers of SFX magazine.
The 75-year-old beat Pierce Brosnan, with Sir Roger Moore third, Timothy Dalton fourth and George Lazenby fifth.
SFX editor Dave Bradley said: "Everyone has their own memories about their favourite James Bond.
"Connery was the quintessential Bond - he was so strong in the role that even though successive generations in the meantime have grown up with their own James Bonds, Connery is the still the ultimate 007.
"New Bond Daniel Craig has very tough acts to follow."
SFX readers also named Connery's 1964 blockbuster Goldfinger as the best film in the iconic Bond series.
Swiss actress Ursula Andress was voted the best Bond girl of all time in the survey of 3,000 readers of the popular sci-fi magazine.
New Bond film Casino Royale, which stars Daniel Craig as 007, will be released worldwide on November 17.
French actress Eva Green will play the enticing Vesper Lynd opposite Craig in the film, while Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen will play the role of Bond's nemesis, Le Chiffre.
Angelina Jolie, Kimberley Davies, Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron had all rejected offers to appear in the film.
Casino Royale, directed by New Zealand's Martin Campbell, is based on the 1953 novel by Ian Fleming.
