DiCaprio reuniting with Winslet

23rd March 2007

Titanic stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are reuniting after 10 years for a 1950s drama about post-war disillusionment, it is reported.

They will play a young couple in DreamWorks' Revolutionary Road, according to Hollywood newspaper Daily Variety.

Revolutionary Road, which will be directed by Winslet's husband Sam Mendes, is based on the acclaimed 1961 novel by Richard Yates.

Early reports suggest that Revolutionary Road will be released sometime in 2009.

Titanic, released in 1997, made a whopping $1.8bn at the global box office - nearly twice as much as its nearest rival.

The film, which cost more than $200m to make, also scooped 11 Oscars in 1998, including best picture, best film editing and best director for James Cameron.

DiCaprio and Winslet have never won an Oscar despite picking up eight nominations between them.

At this year's Oscars ceremony, DiCaprio was nominated for best actor for his performance in Blood Diamond, while Winslet was shortlisted for best actress for her role in Little Children.

DiCaprio, 32, has also appeared in The Departed, The Aviator, Gangs of New York, The Beach and Don's Plum.

Other leading films for Winslet, 31, include Hamlet, The Holiday, Holy Smoke, Romance & Cigarettes and Plunge: The Movie.

British film-maker Mendes won an Academy Award for American Beauty in 2000.
