German luxury car maker BMW has launched its BMW 1 Series Convertible, the fourth model in its series.

BMW is launching two versions of the car in the US - the 128i and 135i.

The 128i, which joins the new 1 Series Coupe going on sale in the spring of 2008, will be powered by BMW's 3.0-liter, 230 horsepower inline six-cylinder engine generating 200 lb-ft of torque.

The 135i, on sale later in 2008, features BMW's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque from as low as 1,400 rpm.

The convertible also includes BMW's Efficient Dynamics system in both engine models.

Pricing details for both models have yet to be announced but expect the 128i to set you back around $25,000 and the 135i about $30,000.
