Turkey's house prices boom

Turkey is in talks to join the EU

Turkey is in talks to join the EU

5th September 2006

Turkey has become an exceptional success story over the past five years with regard to its massive increases in tourism from the UK, Ireland, Germany and Holland.

On the back of this success story the sales of property on Turkey's stunning coastline have exploded and it is estimated that over the past two years alone in excess of 21,000 non-nationals from these countries have purchased holiday homes after experiencing Turkey's stunning beauty and it's amazingly friendly people.

Property values have in many places increased by in excess of 100 per cent over the past three years and there are strong arguments for this to continue.

Many of the international airports that service the tourist areas have been updated and in some cases new terminal buildings have been constructed to manage the ever-increasing number of tourists to these areas.

Motorways and infrastructures have improved rapidly and continue to do so at a rapid rate.

There are an increasing number of budget airlines increasing and starting flights into Turkey in 2006.

Turkey is now in talks to join the European Union (EU).

Mortgages have become available for the 1st time for non-Turkish nationals to a maximum of 80 per cent loan to value.

With property available from as little as £18,000, I feel that all of these reasons give a strong argument for anyone considering a purchase overseas to seriously consider Turkey.
