Dell, the world's largest personal computer maker, is launching a portable music player capable of storing 220 songs in a bid to rival Apple's iPod Shuffle.
The small USB based music player, dubbed DJ Ditty, weighs 40 grams and comes with 512Mb of memory.
It features an LCD screen for managing playlists, an integrated FM tuner and supports audio books and portable music subscription services such as Yahoo! Musicmatch On Demand Portable and Napster to Go.
Dell says the device boasts up to 14 hours of battery life and supports WMA/MP3/WAV formats.
The DJ Ditty is expected to rival the popular iPod Shuffle which was launched in January 2005.
"With every new generation of Dell personal technology products, we continue to increase value for customers by adding innovative and relevant features at attractive prices," said Michael Farello, vice president of electronics and accessories for Dell's consumer business.
The Dell DJ Ditty will cost $99 in the US. For more information visit www.dellditty.com.
