We need to improve the atmosphere at games. The atmosphere is dieing out due to overpriced tickets, families coming on day trips and not singing and all-seater stadiums. It isn't football any more, it’s a business and famous places like the Anfield and many others are suffering. I can see why people are against terracing but we need atmosphere on a Saturday. I nearly care as much about the atmosphere as the result and so do many of my friends. I sit on the kop and if it has been a dull atmosphere, I feel depressed after the game even if we win.

Rugby league fans, rugby union fans, music fans and many others stand at events every week along with fans of all football clubs below the top 2 divisions, so whats the problem? The Taylor report was about social enginering not safety!

Standing should be allowed, it can be safe as the German's have proved. If you don't want to stand then go in the seats, simple as.

I am totally against re-introducing terracing. There used to be far more crowd trouble with terraces. All-seater stadiums have brought more families and children to the grounds. This has to be good for the long-term future for British football.

Germany was once an all-seater country but they managed to do safe standing. Why can't we?

I personally feel that parts of a football stadium should be standing and parts shouldn’t. Technology and police control have improved greatly since Hillsborough so why not give people the chance to stand if they want to do so.

Safety must be the only priority. I would not change the current system until officials can guarantee that standing is as safe as seating.

English football grounds are the safest in the world. Why change it?

I agree totally with the idea of controlled and safe areas of terracing at football grounds. It works successfully in Germany so why can’t it work in England. In my view the Hillsborough tragedy was caused purely by neglegant policing. Let’s have a proper debate about terracing and make a sensible decision based on the facts, and only the facts.

This should never be allowed to happen. Let’s not return to the dark days of the 70s and 80s please. We have the safest stadiums in Europe, let’s keep it that way.
