The German capital city of Berlin has also been identified as a top city break destination by AITO.
Berlin, which is fourth on the list, is a huge, vibrant and varied metropolis.
Cosmopolitan even before Germany's reunification, the city offers glamour, entertainment and culture, according to AITO.
Rounding out the top 10 are Washington DC, Palermo, Hong Kong, Reykjavik, Montreal and Paris.
