Situated on the Great Barrier Reef, Hamilton Island will be home to Qualia - a new five-star luxury resort due to open in mid September.
Qualia, Latin for "a collection of sensory experiences", will become one of the world's must-stay resorts, according to All Ways Pacific, a UK-based tour operator.
It will feature 60 one-bedroom, stand-alone pavilions, some with a west-facing sundeck and some with a private, salt-water plunge pool.
In addition, there is a Beach House for up to four people, which comes complete with an enormous living-room, a full-size swimming pool and a guest pavilion in the grounds.
The resort, which is set amidst 30 acres of tropical gardens, will boast a day spa, two swimming pools, a yoga centre, gym and two restaurants.
Guests will also have electric golf-carts at their disposal to get around the resort, thereby saving their energy to explore the Great Barrier Reef - one of the natural wonders of the world.
The resort, designed by acclaimed Queensland architect Chris Beckingham, can organise diving, fishing and snorkelling trips on the reef, plus a yacht excursion out to the extraordinary white sands of Whitehaven Beach.
Prices start from £304 per person per night with All Ways Pacific.
There is a minimum two-night stay and all rates include meals and soft-drinks, VIP chauffeur service, use of a 2-seater golf buggy, VIP return transfers from Hamilton Island airport/marina to Qualia and use of non-motorised watercraft.
Prices for the Beach House, which sleeps four, start from £1,304 per night.
Hamilton Island has its own airport, with flights from most major cities daily. One-way flights cost from £80 from Cairns, £81 from Brisbane and £104 from Sydney.
