Bristol's vibrant nightlife

As the sun sets over the harbour, Bristol comes alive with music, theatre, cinema, laughter, food and drink.

The city's main nightlife areas are around the harbourside, along Whiteladies Road and Park Street and Corn Street and the Old City.

Level, 24 Park Row
One of Bristol's hidden treasure's is Level - a late night bar and club modelled on a 1960s & 1970's airport lounge. Level plays a broad spectrum of music including hip-hop, drum 'n' bass, garage, breaks, r 'n' b, souls, jazz and classics.

Bristol Academy, Frogmore Street
An essential part of the local nightlife, as a quality live music venue and with top UK club nights. The Bristol Academy is a key date on the UK's touring circuit, hosting internationally acclaimed artists from Ian Brown to the Gorillaz, The Charlatans to DJ Shadow.

Zerodegrees, 53 Colston Street
Opened in July 2004, this restaurant, bar and microbrewery has really added to Bristol's nightlife scene. There's a variety of beers brewed onsite, with tasting sessions available and a fine selection of gourmet pizzas, delicious salads, speciality sausages, pastas and kilo pots of mussels, the menu is uncomplicated, fresh and flexible.

Jongleurs Comedy Club, 28 Baldwin Street
Jongleurs Comedy Club has recently opened in Bristol together with The Stone House, where people can drink and eat in the club or in The Stone House, enjoy two hours of comedy, then dance until 2am.

Severnshed, The Grove
Bar and restaurant with a great waterfront location and a popular cocktail menu.

Watershed, Harbourside
Superb quality at very reasonable prices in Watershed's relaxed waterside location, the perfect environment to enjoy a wide selection of freshly prepared food. Listed in the cafe creme guide to European Cafes, a relaxed time is guaranteed at the Watershed. Celebrity visitors include PJ Harvey, Van Morrison and Andrew Sachs.

Elbow Room, 64 Park Street
The Elbow Room Pool Lounge & Bar is lively but laidback and it takes lounging to new levels of elegance. Happy Hour runs every night from 5pm to 8pm. DJs play rare groove, funk, hip hop, disco & house [Sunday is Reggae night!] until 2.30am with free entry.

Brownstone,13-15 King Street
Brownstone is an open plan coffee house - come gastro pub, by day, morphing effortlessly into a sassy, exclusive late night lounge club complete with restaurant, VIP champagne bar and a cosy snug.

Jesters Comedy Club, 140 - 142 Cheltenham Road
Only dedicated stand up comedy club in South West region. We use only professional circuit comedians to ensure quality shows every week. Licensed bar with wide choice and food bar open until late.

Oceana, Anchor Square, Harbourside, Bristol
Escape to Oceana and discover seven great nights out under one roof with seven different bars, two night clubs and dining facilities contained in one venue. Oceana nightclub was the overall winner of the Bristol Best Bar None awards 2006.
